Odisha Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana, as the name says is a healthcare scheme initiated by the Government of Odisha that aims to provide healthcare facilities to the people of the state irrespective of their status, income, etc. The department of healthcare and family welfare, govt of Odisha is responsible for the implementation of the Odisha Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana.

To empower the women of the state, govt. made sure to give extra Rs. 2 lakh health cover which makes it a total of Rs. 7 lakh health cover for the women beneficiaries. The benefit of the BSKY ( Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana ) can be availed from the government hospitals, medical colleges in the state, 208 private hospitals which come under the panel & 8,500 State-run health facilities.
Note – According to a report from Zeebiz the healthcare cover amount for the women of the state which was Rs. 7 lakh previously is now increased to Rs. 10 lakh annually.
Shri Naveen Patnaik, the 14th Chief Minister of Odisha, launched the scheme on the 15th of August 2023 and now the government has more expansion plans for the healthcare scheme. To expand the healthcare infrastructure, the Odisha government has allocated Rs 9,164 crores in the latest budget session to multiple healthcare schemes of the government. Rs 1,353 crores is provided under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana and Rs 1,572 crores under the MSSM according to a report from newindianexpress. The state has a population of around 3.5 crores out of which 1.5 crores are women.
