NDA & NA stands for National Defence Academy & Naval Academy exam. It is commonly known as NDA Exam. Here today we are going to explain NDA Exam Pattern. You will also get to see official NDA Exam Syllabus. Candidates need to check them carefully because the competition is very tough. The reason is obvious. It is first exam for becoming officer in Indian armed forces.
It is a combined exam for selecting officers for Army, Navy & Air Force. UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) conduct this exam twice in a year. Hence UPSC decides NDA Syllabus. Usually commission don’t change NDA Exam Pattern much. Complete details are given below.
NDA Exam Pattern & Syllabus
12th class passed or appearing candidates can appear in NDA Exam. After passing NDA written exam, candidates are called for SSB interview. Recommended & medically fir candidates join National Defence Academy located at Khadakwasla (Pune), Maharashtra where they will undergo training for approx. three years out of it 2.5 years training is common for three wings.
Then Army cadets go to IMA(Dehradun) for 1-year training, Navel cadets to Naval Academy (Ezhimala) for 1-year training and Air Force cadets to AFA(Hyderabad) for further 1½ year training. But to reach to the final stage, you have to gain full Knowledge of NDA Syllabus and Exam Pattern. We have also given NDA Eligibility Conditions in next section.
NDA Exam Scheme
Written part consists of 2 papers i.e. Mathematics & General Ability Test (GAT). Mathematics paper is of 300 marks and GAT is of 600 marks. 2nd paper is further divided into two parts, part A & part B. Part A is ENGLISH of 200 marks and Part B–GENERAL KNOWLEDGE is of 400 marks.

Important Note:-
- Written part consist of 900 marks and ssb interview also consist of 900 marks. All India Merit List is made on basis of these marks.
