About BPSC

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is a body created by the Constitution of India to select applicants for civil service jobs in the Indian state of Bihar according to the merits of the applicants and the rules of reservation. The head office of the BPSC is located at 15, Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg, Patna, Bihar, India.

The Commission was established on 1 April 1949 under the Government of India Act 1935. The Commission is mandated to conduct the Civil Services Examination for entry-level appointments to the various Civil Services of the State Government.

BPSC AE Eligibility Criteria 2023

A. Age Criteria

For all posts except for the post of Chief Engineer:

• The minimum age limit is 21 years.
• The maximum age limit is 37 years.
• For the post of Chief Engineer:

• The maximum age limit is 40 years.

For SC/ST/OBC candidates:

• The minimum age limit is 21 years.
• The maximum age limit is 40 years.

B. Educational Qualification

• For all posts except for the post of Chief Engineer:
• The candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognized University.
• For the post of Chief Engineer:
• The candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognized University.
• The candidates must have at least 20 years of experience in the field of Engineering.
