Bihar Free WIFI Scheme for Universities & Colleges: Prime Minister of India started the Digital India program. Now the Bihar Chief Minister Mr Nitish Kumar announces that all colleges and universities in Bihar state will have free Wi-Fi facilities. Mr Kumar said that this program will start in February next year 2023. This free Wi-Fi program will help the students in their studies.

However, according to reports a few months back governments of Bihar state, blocked porn and another website that were mostly searched on free Wi-Fi, which was not the objective of free internet.

The Government of Bihar will also offer 10MBPS of speed to every college and university, except IIT which will get 20MBPS. Bihar authorities will also limit the usage of free Wi-Fi so that every student is cannot access the video website and other same types of websites on free Wi-Fi service.

The Government of Bihar has not put any restrictions on websites like Hotstar, Netflix and Voot which can also be misused by the students to watch content that might not get blocked. YouTube cannot be blocked on free Wi-Fi service because it hosts all kinds of study videos and categories of videos.
